The remains of the Dara-Groon empire could be found, but you’d need to travel deeper into their occupied space. And if Zara’s calculations are right, their cities have been crumbling for centuries.
For a fringe outpost to be forgotten implies a period of Galactic expansion followed by a cessation / contraction? What happened that caused people to stop pushing the frontier?
