the Dara-groon were outsiders, but also helped improve Martian culture/civilisation significantly, so it could easily commemorate either the greeting of the Dara-Groon or the greating of the Martian people.
or maybe it was used by the Martians to make parmesan sprinkles for their spaghetti and should be spelled “Grating Stone” /shrug
